You will find the wine list of wines we will be offering at our Wine Tasting Event next month, courtesy of Golden Rule Vineyards. Mr. Mark Phillips of Golden Rule Vineyards was kind enough to send descriptions of these wines and I wanted to share them with all of you.

2017 Reserve Viognier
Floral and opulent, this Viognier is sourced from Deep Sky Vineyards just outside Wilcox. Notes of white flowers and marzipan grace the nose, while an exceptionally creamy, peach/nectarine pallet persists with flavors of nutmeg and cane sugar. Serve slightly chilled
2016 Cabernet Sauvignon
Smooth and rich, this Cabernet Sauvignon expresses both varietal characteristics and the high desert territory. Fruit driven with notes of smoked chilies and baking spice, the palate delivers soft texture layered with black fruit and vanilla finish. 
2016 Syrah
Earthy and luscious, this Syrah expresses notes of fresh blackberries and cassis, paired with an exceptionally supple mouthfeel and a gentle weight on the tongue. The flavors of black fruit and licorice give way to an herbal, spice driven finish. 
2016 Petit Verdot
Structured and powerful, this single varietal Petit Verdot is rare find. Usually used as blending grape, this red is reminiscent of a traditional Bordeaux. Firm and full-bodied, the flavors of black cherries and fruit leather combine with savory notes of dried herbs and fine leather goods. 
2014 Commonwealth (80% Syrah 20% Petite Sirah)
Rich and fruit driven, this blend offers elements of fruit, crushed herbs, and an earthy edge. The pallet delivers supple tannins and soft acidity with a fruit-leather character and an herby/ spice finish.  
2016 Blacklisted 
Bold and balanced, this Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot delivers a modern rendition of a classic formula. Plums and cassis on the nose are balanced by notes of grilled peppers and holiday spice.  Fruit and leather dominate the palate with notes of vanilla and brown sugar gracing the finish.
